Plans & billing
- What is my intelligence budget?
- Your plan includes a monthly intelligence budget, the thinking Prescene does for you: analyzing scripts, refreshing scene and character intelligence while you write, running workflows like Coverage, and chatting with the Agent. You see it as a percentage that resets every billing cycle. Before anything expensive runs, Prescene shows you an estimate of what it will use. You see it coming before it runs.
- What counts as a title?
- One film or one series. A film with 20 script revisions is still one title. A series with 5 seasons and 100 episodes is still one title. Revisions, seasons, and episodes never count against you; only the titles themselves do. Your plan sets how many you can work on: 5 on Plus, 15 on Pro (including series), unlimited on Max.
- What happens when I archive a title?
- Nothing gets deleted. An archived title keeps its script, every version, its analysis, and all its artifacts, readable any time. It just stops using intelligence, and it no longer counts toward your plan's titles. Reactivating one is instant and free.
- Can I pay annually?
- Yes. Every plan has an annual option priced at 10 months: 2 months free compared to paying monthly. Your intelligence budget still resets monthly, and everything else works the same. You can switch between monthly and annual billing any time from your plan settings.
- What happens when I downgrade or cancel?
- Nothing is deleted. If your new plan allows fewer titles, you choose which stay active; the rest are archived. Your Library, drafts, and artifacts remain yours to read and export on any plan.
- Can I write without a subscription?
- Yes. The Screenplay Editor is free: writing, formatting, drafts, checkpoints, and your scripts stored in your Library. Every new account also starts with free starter intelligence to try analysis and the agent on one title, no card required. Intelligence beyond that (analysis, workflows, Coverage from budget, chat) needs a plan.
- I ran out of intelligence mid-month. What are my options?
- Three: wait for your cycle to renew (the date is shown on your capacity bar), top up with a one-time purchase ($10 or $25 of extra intelligence, valid 90 days), or upgrade your plan. Nothing runs without your say-so, and there are no automatic overage charges.
- Do unused percentages roll over?
- No. Your budget resets each cycle. Top-ups are different: they last 90 days from purchase, across cycles.
- Why did uploading a script use so much of my budget?
- Analyzing a script isn't storage. It's Prescene reading it the way a development exec would: every scene, character, and location, mapped and understood. It's the single most valuable (and most expensive) thing Prescene does, and everything else builds on it.
Coverage
- What does Coverage cost?
- $29 for a single report, $150 for a pack of 10 (valid 12 months). No subscription required. Prescene subscribers can also run Coverage from their monthly intelligence.
- Where do coverage scripts live?
- Scripts you buy coverage on go to your Submissions shelf, separate from your Library. Your report is yours to keep. The script's live intelligence stays fresh for 90 days. Promote it to your Library any time to keep working with it.
- How does Prescene coverage compare to a human reader?
- A professional coverage read costs $75–$200 and takes days. Prescene reads the entire script: every scene, every character. It returns a structured report with scores and rationale in minutes. Use it the way development teams use a first read: fast triage, consistent criteria, full-script evidence.
Screenplay Editor
- Is the editor really free?
- Yes. Writing, formatting, drafts, checkpoints, and your Library are free, with no feature gates. Not a trial. The AI assistant inside the editor is the only part that uses your intelligence budget, and it has an on/off toggle.
- What does the AI assistant toggle do?
- On: the assistant keeps scene and character intelligence fresh as you write and powers rewrite proposals and editor chat, using your budget only when your changes actually need re-thinking. Off: no background analysis, no suggestions, no budget use. Your draft saves either way.
- Will the assistant interrupt my writing?
- No. It waits until you leave a scene or pause, then refreshes in the background. Your typing is not blocked by analysis.
Prescene in your tools
- Can I use Prescene from Claude or other tools?
- Yes. Prescene speaks MCP, the protocol AI tools use to reach outside knowledge. Connect Prescene to Claude and ask about any title in your Library; answers come from the script itself. MCP is included on every plan.
- Is there an API?
- Yes, on Max. Upload scripts, read story data, and run workflows from your own code. Studios and teams exploring deeper integrations can write us at hello@prescene.com.
